Happy Birthday

Gary 6/29/52-4/26/03

Mark
How can it be that the two men I have loved in my life share the same birthday?  June 29, 1952 Gary  was born and Mark !  Gary of course is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and will remain in my heart forever... But our God is so good and faithful he gave me another kind, awesome, wonderful Christian man to fill my lonely days and to share my life with!  When I found out in about the 7th week into the relationship that he was born on the same exact date as Gary I knew for certain that God put Mark into my life..... because what are the odds that you would go through a lifetime and fall in love with someone with the same birthdate as your late husband? It was a confirmation of it being an absolute God thing! (I don't think for a minute that "just" happened!)   I do remember telling Mark that if Robbin had the same birthdate as me I was outa here! :)

So thank you my precious Lord and Savior for placing these two wonderful men in my life!

Fun Time with Nana

I had the joy of staying with these two beautiful little girls while their Mommy and Daddy were away at the hospital having their baby brother!  They are so precious and I do miss seeing them on a daily basis since I moved away!  Don't worry they got a double dose of spoiling while I was there, although I think I was in a bit of trouble for letting them sleep with me, since they wanted to sleep with Mommy and Daddy when everyone came home from the hospital!  Sorry Amber!  This week Bible School is going on and the theme is
Saddleback Ridge.... HABC does an awesome job every year putting on Vacation Bible School... So Sunday morning when we went to Sunday School the girls wore their western outfits that looked adorable!  They went in toting little albums of their baby brother and it was so sweet watching them show everyone who would look and listen!  Thanks Amber and Dan for allowing me to spoil the girls!

Sweet New Life

Ashley took this one with my camera! Thanks Ashley!

These pictures were taken by Nana!
I am a Grandmother yet again!!! To another wonderful little baby boy!  Otto Lane Ramsey was born into this world on June 25, 2010 weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces, and was 22 inches long...  I think it is so wonderful when a name is given to a child that has "history" behind it!! The history comes from both sides of this awesome little family!

I promised pictures of the bathroom and here they are....

I know I promised pictures of the bathroom.... EVEN though we are not finished completely I will go ahead and post these.... (we still have trim, caulking and painting to do) I love the sink.... I had the cabinet sitting in an empty spot in my bathroom in Robinson and thought WOW we don't have much space in Mark's bathroom but I think this will work and by golly it did!   The bathroom is quite small and we will be making use of shelves that I will be building upon my return home!

Here is the tile job I did!  (thanks to years of learning on HGTV) ;)

So no we are not done but stay tuned and I will post the finished product sooooon! ;)

Sillouettes

I have been working on laundry and just generally trying to get caught up with stuff!  I will be leaving soon for the birth of my 5th grandchild!  I have been knitting on a baby afghan so I guess I will be sitting in the waiting room knitting and praying while I am waiting for his birth!  Then I will be staying with a couple of precious little girls!

In the mean time I decided to try my hand with Sillouettes!  So here is my first try below!  I took side shots of Jala's family yesterday....

What do you think??? I have never done this before...

And then I found this side shot of little C man that I had although I should redo this one I think he was pouting!

The upstairs Bathroom Room #3

The upstairs bathroom..... was a little bit of a challenge it was just plain old... it was usable just no shower....

So we began by tearing out all the old fixtures except the tub which we decided to have resurfaced.  Can you believe the tiles were plastic?  It is a small bathroom but it will be sufficient!  It just needs updated and prettified!  Did I just make up that word?   We were trying really hard to get the bathroom completely done before Megan's wedding, we didn't get it done but we had it functional!  (Does that count?)

First on the agenda after removing the ancient sink (I swear it was put in for short people) and the toilet.... we had to call in a plumber to put in a new drain in the tub and to put in the plumbing for a shower and to put in new lines and shut off valves for the sink and toilet.

Mark prepped the walls in the shower by putting concrete backer board on the walls and I tiled and grouted the shower!  (If you watch HGTV enough you think you can tackle almost anything as is my case with the tiling I first tiled in 2002 when Gary and I bought a new home and I wanted tile around the fireplace.)  It really is fairly easy and I have done several tile jobs including helping my brother in law tile their new home.

We decided to put Bead Board on the walls and I think it was an awesome choice!  One thing always leads to another and after having guests while still working on the bathroom we decided to put in an exhaust fan.  That was a huge deal just trying to figure out where to vent it, because yes ladies and gentlemen there is a third floor that is completely done even has a half bath. (I have not even thought what to do to on the third floor but in my imagination see a scene from Pottery Barn with twin beds lined up for the grand kids!)

At this very moment Premier is here from Eldridge, Iowa coating the old porcelain bath tub to make it look brand new!  (June 8, 2010)

Knitting :)

Today the guy is here spraying the bathtub to make it look brand new and might I add it really smells.....  The dogs are locked up in a room and I myself am locked up in my craft room, and what am I doing? I am knitting.... a surprise for a new little guy that will arrive soon in my life... his momma likes to send me pics saying isn't this cute? http://www.etsy.com/listing/48192860/little-man-hat-in-blues?ref=cat1_gallery_4 So I feel obligated to knit, well not necessarily obligated but I would rather make something they want any day!  So while my house is smelly from the paint I decided to start this so I can give it to Amber this weekend to have ready for the newest member of the family when the day comes....

Some wash cloths I have in my gift bin.....

Taaaa Daaaaa !!!! The hat for Baby "R" is finished!!! It was a quick knit and I worked on it off and on today while I was hiding from the paint fumes... got it done late this afternoon!

Princess "J's" 3rd Birthday!

Today was Princess "J's" celebration of her 3rd Birthday!  I don't know where the time goes, but it seems like she was just born!  "J" is such a delight to be around and she of course has her Nana wrapped around her little fingers!  She loves the color purple so her mamma made purple cupcakes!

Somehow the goggles helped her cupcakes taste better?

Mark kept this little guy busy most of the afternoon!
